WORK EXPERIENCE
As a Partner and Head of Investor Relations, Emily is focused on the Firm’s relationships with its Limited Partners. She also sits on the firm’s Investment Committee.
Emily has over two decades of experience in the investment management business, mostly in the technology, software (vertical and horizontal applications), internet & media and financial services sectors. Prior to joining True Wind, she was a founding partner at HMI Capital Management, where she still serves as a Senior Advisor. From inception in 2009, she was Head of Investor Relations, COO, CCO and a member of the Management Committee. She also served on the Investment Committee from inception through 2018. While there, she helped grow the business from $30 million to $3.5B+ in AUM. Previously, Emily worked for several different investment management firms (Columbus Nova Partners, Sirrom Capital) as well as spending significant time in operating roles at two internet service businesses. At the beginning of her career, Emily was a Financial Analyst in Corporate Finance at Montgomery Securities.
EDUCATION
Emily holds an A.B. with highest honors in History from Stanford University, and an M.B.A. with distinction from Harvard Business School.
Personal Life
From 2013 through 2020, Emily served on the National Board of Directors (including three years as Board Chair) for Kesem, a nationwide community that supports children who have a parent with cancer. She is currently on the Board of Trustees for Marin Academy. A native San Franciscan and sports fan, Emily has three kids and a dog, Teddy. She is known to frequent various yoga and Pilates studios around town.
