True Wind Capital Hires Emily M. Brakebill as Partner, Head of Investor Relations

True Wind continues leadership team expansion amidst pickup in dealmaking environment.

SAN FRANCISCO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — True Wind Capital (“True Wind”), a private investment firm that helps differentiated technology companies claim their right to win, today announced the hiring of Emily M. Brakebill as Partner, Head of Investor Relations. Ms. Brakebill joined True Wind effective on March 4, 2024, and will serve on the firm’s Investment Committee.

Brakebill joins True Wind Capital as a seasoned professional with more than 25 years of financial services experience. She spent the last 15 years at HMI Capital Management where she was a co-founding partner and served as Partner, Head of Investor Relations, COO, and CCO; she also served on the Management Committee and Investment Committee. During Brakebill’s tenure at HMI, she grew the firm’s assets under management, primarily from top-tier institutional investors in and outside the US, including endowments, foundations, family offices and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. In addition to owning all fundraising efforts, Brakebill was responsible for LP relations and investor communications.
